TJHS cheerleaders excel at camp

The Trumann Junior High School cheerleaders recently returned from a National Cheerleaders Association summer camp. The camp was at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and attracted over 300 cheerleaders from around the state.

The cheerleaders received the following awards at camp: Spirit Stick -- this is awarded to squads showing the most sincere sprit and enthusiasm throughout the entire week at camp; National Championship Bid Winner -- awarded to the team exemplifying the best technical skill and cheerleading technique, this bid is extended to teams to compete at the NCA Senior and Junior High School National Championships held in Dallas, Tex. They also were awarded a stunt smart sward and motion award.

Bailye Ballard, Morgan Crain, Cecilia Moye, Skye Roach and Darie Seay were all nominated to try out for the All-American Cheerleader. This award is given to individuals who display strength in cheer motions and technique, leadership ability and / or overall attitude at camp.
