New store offers benefits to health, new shopping experience
Clean, simple and inviting. These are the feelings one gets when entering Le Petit Chateau, a new store opened by Dr. Wendy Spanos of Jonesboro.
The store is located on Hwy 463 next door to her medical practice, Health Matters. Dr. Spanos also has a store in the Elk Park Shopping Center in Jonesboro named Wenfields.
She said she wanted to open her new store in Truman to fill a void she saw in shopping items in Trumann.
She offers a variety of items in her new store ranging from lip balms and soaps to dish towels and pajamas.
Dr. Spanos passionately believes in her products, most made exclusively with natural products. The store features many items that would make excellent gifts for ladies or gentlemen or just a nice treat to pamper one's self.
She carries many different soaps, all containing natural ingredients including shea butter, lavender, verbena and some very simple ones for those with very sensitive skin.
This all natural theme continues with her clean burning candles.
One great item in the store is Lip Fusion, a patented limp plumper, sold exclusively by Sefora until six months ago. It is the only lip plumper on the market with collagen in it.
There is also a section devoted to babies, including bath products and toys.
The store does carry many product lines not available in Trumann before, but many come with a reasonable price tag.
Spanos plans to keep the merchandise stock minimal as she learns the needs of the Trumann customers and what types of products they prefer and would like to see more of in the store.
A major portion of shelf space in the store is dedicated to Lampe Berger products. She has every scent offered by the company available in half liter and liter bottles.
Lampe Berger is a patented product. There are many copycat lamps on the market. Real Lampe Berger lamps bear the Lampe Berger name on the neck of the bottle.
According to the company, the lamps clean the air through a "catalytic process" which purifies the air to remove smoke and other household odors. It also fragrances the air with scents that have "aramocological" properties.
The company was established over 100 years ago. It boasts its essential services as eliminating odors, safe purification of the air and providing long lasting fragrances.
"Being in the medical profession, I was skeptical when I first heard about the lamps cleaning the air in rooms," said Dr. Spanos. But after research and using the lamps she now believes in their value as an aid for allergies. The oils burned in the lamps are made from pure essentials oils and alcohol and come in a variety of scents. They can even be mixed to come up with a new scent.
Le Petit Chateau carries a wide variety of lamps, oils and other items including funnels for the oil, special caps for bottles and new wicks and stones for the lamp.
Store employees include Wendi Nancy, Donna Crouch and Summer McDaniel. The store will currently be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Dr. Spanos said after the store has been here a while she will adjust products and hours of operation to better meet the need of her customers.
