Lions install new officers
Lion Brad Baker installed new officers to the Trumann Lions Club last Wednesday. Lion Baker is the son of the late, LB Baker, who was a long time member of the Trumann Lions Club and known world wide for his services to Lions.
The Trumann Lions Club has been a part of the Trumann Community for 76 years. The club has been a source of inspiration and help to the Trumann Community.
The mantra of Lions Club's is, We Serve, and the Trumann's club puts forth every effort to serve its community and help those less fortunate.
Lions Club's mission is to help those with vision and hearing problems. All over the world Lions Club's provide eye exams, eye glasses, hearing exams, hearing aids and surgeries if necessary.
Trumann's Lions Club helps many Trumann residents each year by covering the costs of eye exams and eyeglasses.
The officer's for 2006-2007 are: president -- Jan Brune; vice-presidents -- Ronnie Harrison, Scotty Jones and Tad Rogers; secretary / treasurer -- Sharron Turman; asst. secretary / treasurer -- Debbye Dabis; tail twister -- Jerry Halsell; asst. tail twister -- Bill Teague; lion tamer -- Gerald Smith; asst. lion tamer -- Carmack Johnson; membership chairman -- Bob Sowell; flag chairman -- Scotty Jones; past president -- Johnny Rye; directors -- Melvin Dycus, Bob Farmer, JoAnn Conaster, Jackie Ross, Joe Waleszonia and Carin McClung.
