Wal-Mart continues to support community

"Anytime we need help, they always come through for us," Trumann Chief of Police Larry Blagg said last Thursday about Trumann Wal-Mart.

Chief Blagg went on to say Wal-Mart and manager Larry Rich always go above and beyond when the department calls on them for donations or assistance in any way. Recently Rich presented Chief Blagg with a $1,000 donation for the department. The police department's K-9 canton is nearing ten years old and Chief Blagg said they are hoping to be able to purchase a new K-9.

The price of purchase of a K-9, training for dog and officer is usually around $7,500 to $8,000.

This donation of $1,000 plus several donations from other local business, residents and organizations will allow the department to be able to purchase a new K9.

"We are really having to tighten our budgets, and it is so wonderful to have business like Wal-Mart to step in and help us," said Chief Blagg.

"It is an honor to me and the store to be able to help local organizations such as the Trumann Police Department," Rich said. "It is great knowing we are helping improve a community we are a part of."
