Heritage scrapbook class offered at Southern Tenant Farmers Museum
Everyone has them - boxes full of tattered recipe cards, drawers full of handwritten recipes on the back envelopes and old cookbooks with treasured papers wedged inside. How many times has everyone said they wanted to get them in order but just haven't gotten around to it? Southern Tenant Farmers Museum in Tyronza has the solution to putting these items in order.
STFM will be offering heritage scrapbooking classes beginning Feb. 5 at the museum classroom. The first project, "scrapbooking with recipes," will require each participant to bring a recipe and pictures of the person who created it or made it special. Along with creating a treasure for future generations to enjoy, STFM employees Cindy Grisham and Linda Hinton will teach class members how to preserve and prevent damage to aging pictures.
The class will begin at 1 p.m. on February 5. An evening class may be scheduled if enough participants are interested. The class will meet every Tuesday throughout the month of February. The cost of the class for non-museum members is $10 for the first class and $3 per follwing class. The cost for museum members is $5 for the first only with subsequent classes being free. All supplies will be furnished for the first class.
To enroll in the class, come by the museum or call Linda Hinton at 487-2909. information may also be obtained at the museum's website, http://stfm.astate.edu
