EHC met

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

The Maple Grove EHC met Jan. 17 in the church fellowship center. There were seven members and one visitor, Sharon Linder, present. She is the Poinsett County extension agent.

A pot luck lunch was served before president Mary Johnson called the meeting to order.

Carnell Henley, Doris Henley, Mary Johnson, Willie Jo McGirr, Dorothy Lafarlett, Wylma Parrish and Lorene Sadler answered the roll call, "Have you ever had anything recalled?"

Minutes of last month's meeting were read and a brief review of 2007 meetings was given, allowing members a chance to remember and discuss some of the high points of the year.

The inspirational quote, "prayer and politics," based on Timothy 2:1 "pray for all men,. For kings and all who are in authority," was read by Lorene Sadler

The program, food safety and the consumer, was given by Sharon Linder.

The helpful hit, "bread is delivered fresh to stores five days a week with different color twist ties for each day, Monday -- blue, Tuesday -- green, Thursday -- red, Friday -- white and Saturday -- yellow," was read by Willie Jo McGirr.

The meeting was dismissed with everyone repeating the extension homemaker's creed.
