Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Trumann School District will offer beginning gymnastics and beginning martial arts to students in kindergarten through sixth grades beginning the week of Feb. 4. Lessons will be conducted after school in the Safe Room at Cedar Park Elementary School.

These lessons are for beginners with little or no experience in gymnastics or martial arts. Students may participate in either Gymnastics or Martial Arts. Students will participate in two 45 minute sessions each week for six weeks for a total of 12 sessions. Special clothes are not required -- students may wear shorts and t-shirts.

Classes will be offered on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays. The exact day and time of classes will be determined by the ages and number of students. Parents will be informed of the days and time for their children on Jan 29.

The first session will begin after school at 3:15 p.m., Parents must pick up their children at 4:00 p.m.

The second session will begin at 4:10 p.m. Parents must pick up their children at 4:55 p.m. Students attending the second session will have supervised homework time before their class begins.

These lessons are offered at no charge to students enrolled in Trumann School District. Class size is limited, so, enroll your child immediately. If you register your child for a class, they must attend all sessions.

A Family Fitness Night will be offered on Jan. 29 to share additional information about these activities. Although it is not required, participants are encouraged to attend this event. Dinner will be served from 6-6:30 p.m. and the program will be from 6:30-8 p.m.
