Free classes offered for high school students

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Students in grades seven through twelfth have several free classes available to them.

Beginning Martial Arts is for students with little or no experience in Martial Arts. A certified instructor will help you learn the basics and prepare you for your first belt.

Outdoors Club is for students interested in orienteering, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. The primary focus will be orienteering -- learning how to use a compass in the woods. Activities will be focused on the interests of club members. The last meeting will be orienteering and a cookout on Martin's Creek.

Wildcat Fitness Club is for students who want to improve their personal fitness. Members will work with an experienced trainer to develop and implement personal fitness plans. Join this club and see what a difference 6 weeks can make!

Swim Club is for students who want to learn to swim or play water polo. Students will ride a bus to the YMCA in Jonesboro and take swimming lessons from a certified instructor. Students who already know how to swim will learn to play water polo.

Class size is limited so students need to register, contact Karleen Sheets for more information.
