Born Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1915 in Egypt, AR to the late Claude Gillmore and Forrest Hawkins Gillmore, he was a member of Dyess Church of Christ and a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Gillmore of Dyess; two sons: Floyd Gillmore and Claude Gillmore, both of Dyess; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Kenneth Gillmore, Jerry Gillmore and Billy Gillmore; two brothers: Philip Gillmore and Roy "Jim" Gillmore; two sisters: Marie Norman and Alma Counts; and one granddaughter, Cynthia Gilmore.
Visitation will be from 6 -- 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at Roller-Swift Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Potters Cemetery in Lepanto.
