KAIT will take Region 8 News at 5 and 6 p.m. on the road to Marked Tree do a live newscast plus feature a special segment about the history and culture of Marked Tree.
Marked Tree residents are invited to come out and watch the live newscasts and meet the Region 8 News Team on location. There will be a special meet and greet time for residents to speak with reporters from 3 -- 4 p.m. on July 15.
"We have lots of outstanding communities in Region 8 and this tour is a great opportunity for the Region 8 News Team to highlight some of the best," said Tim Ingram, KAIT VP and general manger. "We want to let everyone in Region 8 to have the opportunity to show others what is great about life in their hometown."
Other finalist communities include Piggott, Hoxie, Newport, Pocahontas, Harrisburg, Kennett and Paragould.
The Region 8 Community of the Year will be announced August 8 during the Good Neighbor Awards ceremony.
Honoring outstanding service in Region 8, The Good Neighbor Awards promote, foster and encourage volunteerism, community service and activism to create a better Region 8. Awards are given to a diverse group of deserving residents from throughout Region 8. The results of the awards ceremony will be broadcast at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 10 on KAIT.
