Olga Ann Anderson

Olga Ann Anderson was born on Monday, Dec. 27, 1920, the daughter of Nikolas and Florence May West Herlevich. She died on June 3, 2009 at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 7 days.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Hamburg and was born anew spiritually at the age of 29 years in Bastrop, La. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, creative homemaker and Christian servant. She was a faithful wife of Arlis Glen Anderson, deceased in 2005, for 67 years. As a young wife with a newborn, she followed her husband, during World War II, to Missouri, Florida and South Carolina. She lived in Mer Rouge, La., and Itta Bena, Miss., before retiring to Horseshoe Bend. She moved to Trumann in 1991.

Anderson has one surviving daughter, Glenda Ann Anderson. As a loving mother, she set an example in word and deed. Her daughter remembers and is grateful for the life lessons taught and daily prayers offered on her behalf. Anderson was a creative homemaker, always turning her house into a home. Her decorative touches, handwork, sewing, and cooking were enjoyed by family and friends. As a Christian servant, she was gifted in the area of hospitality. She had many folks visit her home for fellowship and witness. She planned special activities for many years in her church and encouraged others to become involved. The sixth of seven children, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by brothers: Joe, Victor, and Louis Herlevich and sisters: Fannie McKinney, Lena Boyer, and Geneva Hendrix. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life was held Saturday. Evelyn Garner and Jerry Greenwell will lead worship and Dr. Tad Rogers shared God's message. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Active Pallbearers were Harold Box, Bill Cook, Dwight England, Mike Hogan, Carl Pitts, and Ed Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Martha Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
