Esther Pauline Roberts, 81, of Trumann departed this life Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Jonesboro after battling a long illness. She was born Sept. 9, 1927 to John Oliver and Ellen Hammond Jackson in Fisher.
Roberts was a homemaker and enjoyed playing domino's, traveling to Tunica and spending time with her large family. She was a graduate of Weiner High School, class of 1945.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Carolyn French and Sue Hightower; one grandson, Daniel Roberts; four brothers, Theodore Jackson, Jeff Jackson, Roy Jackson and Joseph Jackson.
Esther is survived by her sons, John Roberts of Trumann, Stanley Roberts, Floyd Roberts and Phillip Roberts of Jonesboro; daughters, Anita Roberts of Jonesboro and Connie Walden of Houston; sisters, Mary Staley of Albion, Mich., Josephine Phariss of Levane, Tenn., and Laura Bolden of McFarland, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, Carin McClung and Mallory Roberts of Trumann, Jessica Walden and Rachel Walden of Baytown, Texas, Tonya French and Gaylon French of Channelview, Texas, Jody Pascher-Rush of Palm Beach, Fla., Scotty Tinker of Galveston, Texas, Justin Roberts of Harrisburg, Audrey Roberts and Daniel Roberts and Amanda Roberts of Jonesboro and several great-grandchildren including, Leah McClung and Campbell McClung of Trumann, Carolyn Alyssa French of Houston, Texas, Erica Elizabeth Garcia of Houston, Texas and Chase Allen Pascher of Palm Beach, Fla.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 22 in Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home. Interment followed in Holly Springs Cemetery.
