Geneva Baine Leggett

JONESBORO -- Geneva Baine Leggett, 82, of Jonesboro went to be with our Lord on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Mrs. Leggett was born in Tyronza. She had lived in Jonesboro for the past 27 years and was formerly of Trumann. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Birch Street Church of God in Trumann.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Leggett in 1988; one daughter, Norma Jean Meredith and one stillborn daughter; three sisters; three brothers; and was the daughter of the late Robert Larry and Lillie London Castleberry Baine.

Survivors include one daughter, Jimmy Sue Leggett of Trumann; one son, Coy Mason Leggett of Bono; one sister, Edna Busby of Trumann; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, June 26 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Don Simpson and Bro. David Owens officiating. Burial followed in Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers included J. L. Hudgen, Jonathan Webb, Shortie Jones, Josh Jones, Jeremy Leggett and Don Meredith. Honorary pallbearers were be Josh Meredith and Raymond Langdon.
