There will be a walking track, also lit, and a water splash pad for those hot summer days.
The park began two years ago with the passage of a sales tax, the backing of an energetic group of sports minded parents, a fully energized city administration and a motivated public. Increased attendance at city council meetings in the formative stages of the park evidenced a city wide interest.
The end is in sight. There are many jobs still to do before the last lists are punched on the baseball fields and concession stand. The walking track is right around the corner, and the splash pad should be ready to cool next summer's heat.
