James Woodrow "Sonnie" Kirk

LEPANTO -- James Woodrow "Sonnie" Kirk, 76, of Lepanto died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock.

He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by parents, Woodrow Wilson and Mildred Bell Kirk;

his wife, Wanda Kirk; son James Allen Kirk and sister Patsy Jean Fletcher.

Survivors include sons, Harold Wayne Kirk of Earle, Jessie Dale Kirk and wife Elaina of Lonoke, Steven Morgan Kirk of Lonoke, Derek Woodrow "Woody" Kirk of Lepanto and Jeffrey Thomas Kirk of Lepanto; daughters, Mary Ogle of Lonoke and Janada Canada and Patricia Darlene Bennitta, both of Stockton, Cali.; brothers Harold D. Kirk of Tyronza and Jesse Wayne Kirk of Little Rock; sisters Shelby Gorbey of

Morgantown, W. V. and Linda Knapp of Flippin; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Murphy Funeral Home under the direction of W.D. Gann.

Burial followed in Caraway Cemetery.
