Van Wesley Parrish, 81, of Marked Tree died Saturday, Sept. 5 at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree.

Born Oct. 12, 1927, in Florence, Ala., he was a farmer and of the Church of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Parrish and Elizabeth Hunt; his wife, Minne Bell Greenwood Parrish; one daughter, Patsy Jones; one son, Barry Parrish; one sister, Marie Ballard; and two brothers, Elijin Parrish and Charner Parrish.

Survivors include five sons: William "Sonny" Parrish of Trumann, James Parrish of Lepanto and Felton Parrish, Ronnie Parrish and Kenneth Parrish, all of Marked Tree; four sisters: Lady Ruth Dewitt of Fisher, Etta McMaster of Wynne, Wausi Jackson of Sheffeld, Ala. and Letha Brown of Latrobe, Penn.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 7 at Wilson Funeral Home in Tryonza with Bro. Rusty Blann officiating. Burial followed in Marked Tree Cemetery.
