According to Weiner Police Department chief of police Rolland Geror, Greeno was in a vehicle with two other males and one female when the firearm was discharged.
The teen attended Weiner High School where he was well liked.
"His smile, his laughter and his love of live will really be missed around here," said Chuck Hanson, superintendent of Weiner Schools. "He was well liked by most of the kids. We're just all really going to miss him."
Hanson, who was Greeno's principal for two years, said the teen played golf and baseball for the school. Fellow classmates held a special memorial service for him Monday night, coming together to mourn the loss of their friend.
Police are investigating what they are calling a tragic accident involving a firearm." Officers from the Weiner Police Department, Poinsett County Sheriff Department, Arkansas State Police and Weiner Fire Department responded to the incident where they found the boy's body inside a maroon vehicle. The Arkansas State Police, who is in charge of the investigation, sent the boy's body to the state crime lab for an autopsy. Police are not releasing additional information until after the autopsy is complete.
