Walnut Ridge continues undefeated season at EPC's expense

Friday, October 30, 2009

Playing five seventh graders against a team which is made up of mostly ninth graders with an 8-0 record and who have allowed only one TD all year seems like an ominous task.

That was the situation the EPC Junior Warriors found themselves in last Thursday when they traveled to Walnut Ridge to take on the Bobcats.

"We've got four seventh graders on the line," said coach Josh Hill afterward. "And Walnut Ridge has only allowed one touchdown all year."

Even with the disparity in the two teams, Hill said there were a few positive things in the game.

"We were 5 for 9 in the passing even though there were two interceptions," Hill continued.

Two of those passes were for 45 years to Chris Bly and 25 yards to Chandler Smith.

"We also got down to their one in the second quarter, but couldn't get in," concluded Hill. "They were just very, very good."

The Junior Warriors will host Cedar Ridge in their season finally tomorrow (Thursday) night. Game time is 7 p.m.
