He was born Saturday, July 22, 1922, in Pryor, Mo., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired service manager for the former Firestone and Goodyear Stores in Trumann, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served 17 months in Europe during World War II. He received an honorable discharge in 1946 and was a member of the First Christian Church in Trumann. His favorite past-time was fishing with his grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Johnnie Fay Reese in 2001; two sisters; two brothers; and his parents, Elmer and Ruby Blunt Reese.
Survivors include three daughters, Polli Bibbs and husband Dale of Trumann, Pam Chipman and husband Joe of Manila and Terri McCann and husband LaRoy of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Cindi Carter, Paul Rowlett, Scotty Watkins, Drew McCann and Kellan McCann; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 27 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Harp officiating. Burial followed at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Baldwin, Gerry Darr, Drew McCann, Paul Rowlett, David Carter, Bobby Condra, Robert "Bubba" Reese and Brandon Williams.
