Ravin Almer "R.A." Woodard

Ravin Almer "R.A." Woodard, 81, of Trumann, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born in Shreveport, La., and had lived most of his lifetime in the Trumann area. Mr. Woodard was an employee of the Singer plant for 28 years and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was the son of the late Clarence Ravin and Mary Veoni McCalister Woodard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Lucille Woodard, one son, Junior Dale Woodard, and one brother, C. M. Woodard.

Survivors include one son, Terry Woodard of Trumann; two daughters, Alberta Richardson and Betty Lee both of Trumann; three brothers, D.B. Woodard of Bono, AR., Eukie Woodard of Anaheim, CA., and Robert Charles Woodard of Lynn, AR; one sister, Anita Faye McIntosh of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Green and Sis. Shelby Shelton officiating. Burial followed in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Joey Wilson, Greg Wilson, Jim McGhee, Jim Woodard, Bryan Dowdy, Clarence Woodard and Mike Kyle.
