Everett E. Jones, 85, of Trumann, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born in Scranton and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired Singer employee, veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II, member of the Ninth Infrantry Cannon Company "Go Devils", was a tech 5 in Arrdens Forest at the Battle of the Bulge, and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and his parents, Orville and Floy Johnson Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lois Jones of the home; two sons, Jerry and wife Bonnie Jones and Terry Lee and wife Pauline Jones all of Trumann; grandchildren, Scotty Jones, Carrie Trego, Jessica Crow and Jerrold Jones and great-grandchildren, Paige Raymond, Hannah Jones, Harley Jones, Braxton Trego and Gavin Trego.

Graveside services were Friday, Dec. 4in the Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery in Harrisburg with Revs. Bud Jenkins and Frank Bufford officiating. Burial was under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.

Pallbearers were Jerry Jones, Terry Lee Jones, Scotty Jones, Jerrold Jones, Jason Crow and Wilburn Coin.
