William "Sweet Pea" Roark

William "Sweet Pea" Roark, 64, of Marked Tree, died Dec. 2 at the VA Medical Center in Memphis.

Born Aug. 15, 1945, Roark was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran who fought in Vietnam. He was of the Church of God faith.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Roark of Marked Tree; his mother, Pearl Roark of Marked Tree; two daughters, Jennifer Sloan of Harrison and Rebecca Roark of Gravette; two sons, Brandon Roark of Trumann and Jason Roark of Tyronza; four sisters, Margaret Davidson of Highland, Theresa Lakey of Glenellyn, Ill., Susan Roark of Payneway, and Bobbie Jean Higdon of Bartlett, Tenn.; Terry Roark of Payneway and Bobby Roark of Marked Tree; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza with Brother Patrick Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Tyronza Cemetery.
