Junior C. "J.C." Lansdell, 79, of Trumann, died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born in Etowah and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was retired from the Kohn Bray Gas Company where he served as manager for 42 years.
Lansdell was a navy veteran of the Korean War, member of the American Legion and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where he served as deacon and was a Gideon. He helped many people throughout his life. He is loved and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Verna Blansett; two brothers, Vaughn and Douglas Lansdell and was the son of the late Clay and Bessie Dunlap Lansdell.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lorene Lansdell of the home, one daughter, Donna Walker of Trumann; one son, Keith Lansdell of Trumann; three grandchildren, Brandy Pratt and Clay and Tyler Lansdell and five great-grandchildren, Katie, Elizabeth, Dillon, and Jaxon Lansdell, and Kyra Pratt.
Funeral service were Monday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Loggins and Frank Bufford officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
Active pallbearers were Jim Richardson, Chris Penna, Henry Secrease, Raymond Wells, Bill Wagner and Richard Woodruff.
Honorary pallbearers were Junior Roach, Jack McCoy, Bill Crain, Bill Cook, James Ruffin, and Bud Hollingshead.
