City Stars ball to be free this year

The City Stars Program along with Little League Baseball and ASA Softball are proud to announce that the summer programs will be free to all players for the 2010 season. All registrations, insurance, and uniforms will be covered by a grant. The goal is to get as many kids in the area to participate in a structured program.

Players who reside in the Jonesboro, Trumann, Weiner, Harrisburg, Valley View, Westside and Nettleton school districts are eligible to participate in this program. Again, this program is completely free for players ages 4-14. Games will be played at the Deral Burrow Park in Jonesboro.

Registration dates will be as follows: 4 -- 7 p.m. Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the Turtle Creek Mall food court and from 6 -- 9 p.m. Feb. 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 and March 2, 4, 9 and 11 at the Parker Park Community Center on Hwy 141 in Jonesboro.

A copy of the child's birth certificate should be brought to the signing. Future registrations will be held in Harrisburg and Jonesboro.
