Democrat Tribune invites community reporters

Thursday, January 6, 2011

The Democrat Tribune staff is looking to increase our coverage of Poinsett County, but we need help from the public.

In order to maximize our coverage of Poinsett County communities, we will begin holding meetings at the Democrat Tribune office in Trumann which we encourage all interested people to attend.

We are looking for people who might be interested in serving as publicity chairmen or community reporters -- people who are plugged into their communities and can help make sure we know what's going on so our readers will too.

We are looking for people who could perhaps bring in reports on civic clubs, the arts, local government, churches and schools. If you know of events going on in the community and you see it is not getting in the paper, you are exactly who we would like to see at these meetings.

Anyone in Trumann, Marked Tree, Tyronza, Lepanto, Harrisburg, Fisher, Waldenburg, Weiner or any other area in Poinsett County who is interested in helping us get more information about your community into the paper is invited to come.

The first meeting will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, in the Democrat Tribune office at 201 Highway 463 in Trumann. Refreshments will be served.
