Joey Reid Craig
PLEASANT VIEW, TN -- Mr. Joey Reid Craig, 61, of Pleasant View, Tenn., went to be with his Savior Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Memphis, Tenn., had lived in Pleasant View, Tenn., for the past 20 years and was formerly of Marked Tree, Ark.
He was a project manager for RCR Building Corporation for many years and loved his job. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and being in the outdoors.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Joelton, Tenn., and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Jones; three brothers, Billy Wayne Shipman, Skip Craig and Buddy Craig, and his parents, J.D. and Lois Tyson Craig.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Craig of the home; one daughter, Whitney Moss and husband Andy of Chapmansboro, Tenn.; one son, Tyrel Buckshot Craig of Pleasant View, Tenn.; one sister, June McDaniel and husband Dos of Jonesboro, Ark.; one brother, Richard Craig and wife Carol of Newton, Kans.; one granddaughter, Julia Michelle Moss, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service was Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at the East Side Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza, Ark., and was under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
A memorial service at the First Baptist Church in Joelton, Tenn., will be announced at a later date.
Pallbearers were Tyrel Craig, Nathaniel Clark, Michael Brooks, Andy Moss, Chad Weatherly and William McGlothlin.
Visitation was Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
