Wildcats fall to Osceola

The Trumann Wildcats received a stellar effort from Malcolm Washington in their Friday night meeting with the hosting Osceola Seminoles. Despite Washington's 24 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks, the 'Cats fell just short on the night, 59-57.

Trumann trailed 34-16 at intermission, but was able to close the gap to 45-34 heading into the fourth. Washington netted 10 of his points in the fourth frame, sparking a Trumann run which changed the tempo of the contest.

Matt Holt also had a solid night, netting 17 points for the Wildcats. Also scoring for Trumann were Cameron Jones 8, Nathan Maxwell 4 points and 11 rebounds and Justin Stevens 4.

Warrick Woodson led Osceola with 18 points. Korliss Marshall had 17 for the Seminoles.

The Wildcats are slated to host Valley View beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.
