TRUMANN - Mrs. Wilma Dean Simmons Walker, 82, of Trumann died Tuesday March 27, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born in Hickoria, Ark., and had lived in Trumann since 1966 and was formerly of Missouri. She was a homemaker, retired Singer employee and of the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Junior "A.J." Walker in 1993; two sons, Albert "Dewayne" Walker and James "Leslie" Walker, Sr.; one sister, Thelma Throgmartin; three brothers, Smokey Simmons, Jessie Simmons and Kenneth Simmons, and was the daughter of the late Eddie and Clara Ester Parker Simmons.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Smith and husband Mike of Marion and Sandra Stewart and husband Hal of Trumann; three sons, Dennis Walker and wife Loc of Catoosa, Okla., Stanley Walker and wife Sondra of Trumann and Larry Walker and wife Debra of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Lessie Throgmartin of Trumann; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Bro. Michael Jernigan officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Matthew Walker, Michael Smith, Jeff Walker, Ryan Walker, Wayne Walker, Jason Stewart, Stephen Walker, Shannon Walker, Chris Walker and James Leslie Walker, Jr.

Visitation was Thursday, March 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
