Louie Bivens of Trumann passed away July 20, 2012, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 83. Mr. Bivens was born in Tyronza to Brodie and Lorine Franks Bivens. He worked for Kohn Bray Propane Company and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved western movies so much he spent hours working in theatres.
Mr. Bivens was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Hattie; brother, George "Buddy" Bivens; and great-grandson, Austin Burchell.
He is survived by his wife Claudine, of the home; a son, Danny Bivens of Trumann; a stepson, Allen Vonover of Senatobia, Miss; a daughter, Betty Long of Trumann; a stepdaughter, Darlene Stone of Atlanta; a brother, Dwayne Bivens of Dewitt, Ark; a sister, Clara Jean Joiner of Arkadelphia; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were July 23, at Tyronza Cemetery with Austin Missy officiating.
Tim Burchell, Michael Burchell, Joe Henry, Josh Henry, Zac Bivens and Derek Kemper served as pallbearers. Kevin Burchell served as an honorary pallbearer.
