Haunted Sector comes to Trumann

Participants' first encounter through the wooden maze is a graveyard.

For the fourth year in a row, Trumann welcomes the Haunted Sector for Halloween. The cost is $5 a ticket for each attraction and the sector is located at the Sports Complex on 16179 Pecan Grove Road in Trumann.

The Haunted Sector is made possible by donations, sponsors, and volunteers. Brandon Shrader, director of Trumann Parks and Recreation, said, "It's a great chance for community involvement. We get a lot of support from sponsors and volunteers."

Shrader started the Haunted Sector in Trumann four years ago, with it growing each year. He said that every year brings on new volunteers with new ideas to add to the Haunt. This year has been the most productive for advertising with commercials featuring survivors who experienced Jaggers, a clown with an interesting story behind the Haunted Sector.

After the mysterious death of his parents, a young man takes over his family's circus, Cirque de Mystique, but not without a price.

Jaggers, the circus clown, came to work shortly before his parents' demise. No one knew that Jaggers had recently escaped the county insane asylum.

Over time Jaggers banned together the most evil of the circus workers and began creating a wicked show-- a show that ensured no one would survive. Jaggers moved the traveling circus to a Trumann haunted graveyard, where it has remaind untouched, renaming Cirque de Mystique, CarnEvil.

CarnEvil is not the only spook at the Haunted Sector. On Friday and Saturday nights, the scary gets scarier with a Blackout. Participants are given only a glow stick to make their way through the sector while everything is pitch black.

Zombieland is an outside attraction taking place at this event. For the fortunate that survive CarnEvil and the Blackout, a ride through a trail full of grueling creatures awaits.

The scare times are:

Thursday, Oct. 11 -- 7 until 10 p.m.
