Local junior high teams in action

EPC's Clay Malone had a hand in all scoring as the Junior Warriors defeated Cedar Ridge 14-8 in junior high football action last Thursday.

Malone finished the night with 83 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also passed for 38 yards including a two-point conversion pass to Kyler Gordon. Gordon finished the night with 77 yards on the ground. Wesley Benton chipped in 48 yards rushing.

The EPC defense recovered four Junior Timberwolves fumbles as Jerritt Watts had two of those recoveries.

It was Homecoming night in Harrisburg as the Junior Hornets hosted the Junior Bulldogs from Earle. The visitors used a potent offensive attack as they handed their hosts a 56-6 loss.

Dillon Russell scored Harrisburg's only points on the night as he had a 60-yard touchdown run.

The Trumann Junior Wildcats travelled to Valley View for junior high football action where the Junior Blazers posted a 34-6 victory.

Trey Moody led Trumann with 127 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. Lucas Moye and Garrett Woods each carried the ball six times gaining 44 and 32 yards respectively.

Moody led the way on defense with four tackles. Rico Moreno and Trevor Niswonger each followed with three tackles. Hunter Terrell recorded a sack on the night
