Malik Monk scored five touchdowns to help EPC defeat Salem 44-14 in junior high football action last Thursday in Salem. EPC improved to 5-2 on the season.

Monk had 103 yards rushing on two carriers with two touchdowns, caught four passes for 34 yards with two touchdowns and intercepted a pass and returned it for 85 yards for a touchdown. Clay Malone completed 7 of 11 passes for 81 and two touchdowns. Malone added 71 yards rushing on four carries and a touchdown. Kyler Gordon had two-point conversion scores as Malone and Monk each added one a piece.

Austin Smith and Gordon both had a fumble recovery as Wes Benton added an interception on defense.

EPC will host Marked Tree to finish out their season.

Trumann's Junior Wildcats and Brookland's Junior Bearcats fought to a 14-14 tie last Thursday in Brookland. Trumann stands at 0-6-1 on the season.

Trey Moody rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries while catching two passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Garrett Woods completed five of his seven pass attempts for 107 yards and a touchdown. Alex Santos caught two passes for 13 yards and Rico Moreno had one reception for 21 yards.

Moody had 11 tackles to lead the Junior Wildcats defense. Kevonte Andrews and Trevor Niswonger both had eight tackles. Woods added six tackles on the night. Moreno had an interception for Trumann.

Trumann will travel to Cave City Thursday for their next game.

Marked Tree had a bye week and will travel to EPC Thursday.
