Carla Faye "Skaggs" George
Mrs. Carla Faye "Skaggs" George of Bay died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, at the age of 70 years, nine months and 18 days. She was born in Ellington, Mo., Dec. 25, 1941, and had lived in Bay for the past three years and was formerly of Trumann. She was a retired secretary for Direct General Insurance Agency, loved working with horses and rode in several competition events. She was a member of the First Assembly of God. Mrs. George was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and her parents, Saint John and Ocie Cowin Skaggs.
She is survived by one son, Terry Hendrix of Bay; three sisters, Joyce Gairhan of Trumann, Patricia Spencer of Bay and Sherry Ford of Jonesboro; three brothers, Ronald Skaggs of Ash Flat, Randy Skaggs of Jonesboro and Donnie Skaggs of Trumann.
Funeral services were Oct. 16 at the First Assembly of God in Trumann, with Rev. Jerry Ferguson and Rev. Kenneth Doke officiating. Burial followed in Macey Cemetery in Monette, under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
Pallbearers were Shannon Walker, Jonathan Skaggs, Perry Skaggs, Barry Skaggs, Mark Spencer and Gary King. Honorary pallbearers were nieces, Barbara Moon, Loretta Allen, Caroline Bowers, Debbie Brewer, Pat Lewis, Irene Chandler, Caroline Sanders and Metta McKinney.
The family would like to thank the staff at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House for their kindness and care to Carla and the family.
