Junior Wildcats seal first win of season against Cave City

The Trumann Junior Wildcats got their first win of the season last Thursday night in Cave City. The Junior Wildcats came back after being down 18-6 at halftime to post a 20-18 victory.

Trey Moody led the way for Trumann rushing for 131 yards and touchdown to go along with 68 yards receiving and a touchdown. Dwalin Woods had 27 yards rushing and a touchdown. Garrett Woods passed for 103 yards with one touchdown. Lucas Moye added a two-point conversion.

Mario Sifuentes had an interception on defense.

"It was an unbelievable second half," Trumann coach Cody Wallis said. "Moody, Dwalin Woods and Alex Santos all had big plays in the second half. Mario Sifuentes intercepting a screen pass helped us seal the win," Wallis added.

Trumann stands at 1-6-1 on the season and will host Highland in their season finale on Thursday.

Harrisburg's Junior Hornets fell to Corning 22-16 last Thursday.

Conner Haag led the team with 88 yards rushing followed by Dillon Russell with 56 yards and Malik Versie with 30 yards. Haag and Russell both scored touchdowns.

Walker Hammond led in tackles with 9 1/2.
