Hogs fall to Ole Miss on field goal at buzzer

It was a beautiful day at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock as the Arkansas Razorbacks hosted the Ole Miss Rebels for an SEC match-up. The Rebels kicked a field goal as time expired to escape with a 30-27 victory.

Arkansas jumped out to a 10 point lead after one quarter of play thanks to a Zach Hocker 22-yard field goal and a 42-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Wilson.

Ole Miss roared back in the second quarter scoring three touchdowns as the Razorbacks got a 6-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to Alex Voelzke to go to half trialing 21-17.

The Rebels scored the only points of the third quarter as they kicked a field goal to up 24-17 after three quarters of play.

The Hogs and Rebel traded field goals to make the score 27-20 with 10:06 left in the game. The Razorbacks drove the field with Dennis Johnson scoring behind the block of Morgan Linton to tie the game with 2:09 left to play. Ole Miss took the ensuing kickoff and drove down to kick the winning field goal with no time left on the clock for the victory.

Lepanto's A.J. Turner had a good day on defense as he recorded 10 tackles, two solo and eight assisted. Morgan Linton, son of Trumann graduates Mike Linton and Jennifer Cash Linton, didn't record any yards rushing or receiving but made the block that got Dennis Johnson in the end zone with the tying touchdown.

The Hogs fall to 3-5 and will host Tulsa for their next game.
