Red Wolves down ULM for Sun Belt top spot

The Arkansas State Red Wolves took sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt conference with a 45-23 win at Liberty Bank Stadium in Jonesboro.

Ryan Aplin threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns while adding a 38-yard rushing touchdown on the night. David Oku gained 131 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns for the Red Wolves. J.D. McKissic had 12 catches for 102 yards, Taylor Stockemer had 86 yards on two catches and a touchdown with Julian Jones adding 81 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Sterling Young recorded 11 tackles on the night with Don Jones and Qushaun Lee both adding nine tackles. Nathan Herrold intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble to go along with his six tackles on the night. Tim Starson had 1 sacks with Amos Draper having a sack on the night.

ASU stands at 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the Sun Belt conference. The Red Wolves will travel to Troy Saturday for Sun Belt action.
