Wildcats go 1-2 in Pre-Holiday

Trumann's Wildcats won their opening round of the boys' Pre-Holiday Tournament over Ridgefield Christian before suffering back to back losses, the last coming in the third-place game of the tournament last week in Harrisburg.

Last Tuesday the Wildcats opened with a 50-48 win over RCS on a buzzer beating shot my Cameron Jones.

Maxwell led the way for Trumann scoring 16 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Grayson Dye added 12 points with Jones and A.J. Winningham chipping in 10 points each for the Wildcats.

Trumann matched up with Nettleton in the semi-finals last Thursday night. The Raiders jumped out early and went on to a 77-62 win over the Wildcats.

Maxwell again led the Wildcats in scoring with 19 points. Winningham netted 17 points and Jones scored 10 points for Trumann. Westen Gilliam pulled down 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats squared off against league foe Westside in the third-place game this past Saturday night. The Warriors took the game with a 68-57 win.

Jones was the top scorer for Trumann with 19 points followed by Maxwell with 17 points and Winningham with 16 points.
