"I was very proud of them for making it to the finals, we are pretty sure they are the first girls team in Weiner history to make the finals of the Kell Classic," Weiner Coach James Halitzka said. "Cave City was very big and physical. I think we did a good job at handling their big girls when we went man to man. Both teams were battling to see who could stay out of foul trouble the longest. I think in the end we started to suffer from the foul situation a little more then they did. I had to move my point guard down to guard their center. They were 19-23 from the free throw line and we were 13-23, that right there makes the difference in the game," Halitza added.

Mack led all scorers with 16 points and Smith finished with 10 points for the Lady Cardinals.

Ball led Cave City with 15 points and Holley tossed in 13 points.
