Junior high teams hit the field
Trumann's Junior Wildcats (1-0) opened their 2013 football season with a 14-6 win at Hoxie. Dwalin Woods led Trumann with 105 yards rushing with a touchdown and two-point conversion. Cade Gartman chipped in 42 yards rushing and a touchdown. Preston Heavener and Coty Buckner sacked Hoxie's quarterback to end the game. Jeremiah Allred and Chase Cook each had a fumble recovery.
The EPC Junior Warriors (1-0) shut out McCrory 14-0 to open the season last Thursday night. Trevor Walker rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on the night for EPC. D.J. Lauderdale finished with 45 yards rushing and a touchdown. Chanc Gray ran in a two-point conversion while recording eight tackles and an interception on defense. Jerritt Watts also had eight tackles for the Junior Warriors including three sacks.
Four Junior Indians found the end zone last Thursday night as Marked Tree (1-0) opened their season with a 26-0 win over Cross County. Paul Coleman had a big night rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown. Julian Booker and Tuke Brown had touchdown runs of seven and 36 yards respectively. Quarterback Antjuan Anderson hooked up with Jack Brown on a 23-yard scoring toss. Cade Williams ran in a two-point conversion for the Junior Indians.
