Marked Tree (1-0) made the long trek to Clarendon and came away with a 36-8 win last Friday night. Brody McCrary had a big night for the Indians as he threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns and added a touchdown run. Kedrick Tyler found the end zone twice with a rushing and receiving touchdown. Dylan Hunt and Daniel Rucker each had a touchdown reception.
Trumann (0-1) travelled to Hoxie to take on the Mustangs and were defeated 42-6. A.J. Winningham led the Wildcats offense with 121 yards rushing as Westen Gilliam hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Justin Liles.
Harrisburg (0-1) hosted Cross County this past Friday and took a 33-20 lead into halftime. The Thunderbirds came out on fire the second half as they scored 61 points to post a 81-57 win over the Hornets. Connor Haag led the Harrisburg offense with 385 yards passing and five touchdowns. Haag also rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Ayson Lamb was on the receiving end of four of those touchdown passes and finished with 162 yards receiving. Devon Jarrett finished with 116 yards rushing on the night.
