TRUMANN -- Joanna Brinkley Hammell, of Trumann, departed this life at the age of 69 Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born in Craighead County to James and Marie Wilson Brinkley. Joanna married Louis Ivan Hammell III September 19, 1994 and they enjoyed fourteen years of marriage before his death in 2009. Joanna was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Tulot. She was a 1962 graduate of Trumann High School, a home maker, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Joanna was preceded in death by her parents James and Marie Brinkley; her husband Louis Ivan Hammell III; four brothers Dickey, Jimmy, Johnny, and Joseph Brinkley; and two sisters Alverna Hatland and Helen Brinkley. She is survived by three sons James (Spike) Wiman and wife Angela of Lake City, Joe Martin and Chris Martin both of Payneway; one daughter Ann-Marie Holcomb and husband Jamie of Trumann; one brother Paul Brinkley of Hardy; two sisters Grace Shaassere of Wirth and Mary Colona of Fenton, MO; four grandchildren Adam Joe Seger, Brent Holcomb, Connor Holcomb and Evean Holcomb; and one great-grandaughter Abagail Ryleigh Seger. Funeral services were September 3 at Jackson's Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements were by Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.
