JONESBORO - Ms. Alice Yvonne Fortson Halfacre, 73, of Jonesboro died April 29, 2014 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born in Oil Trough had lived in Jonesboro for the past seven years and was formerly of Trumann. She was a retired employee of the Parker Hannifin Corp. and was of the Assembly of God faith. Ms. Halfacre was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and her parents, Robert Allen and Sarah Oleva Shirrell Kirkland.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Lynn (Darryl) Fortson Howerton of Jonesboro; one son, James Randall (Ava) Fortson of Jonesboro; five sisters, Annie Timms of Missouri, Patricia (Jim) Bishop, Betty Bishop, Nancy Kirkland and Angela Floyd; six brothers, Dean Kirkland of Jena, La., Ronald (Brenda) Kirkland of Columbus, La., Robert (Debbie) Kirkland of Ripley, Tenn. and Donald (Sandy) Kirkland of Cleveland, Miss., Tommy (Vicky) Kirkland, and Timmy (Mary Anne) Kirkland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were May 3 at Friendship Assembly of God Church in Jonesboro with Rev. James Moore officiating. The graveside service was at the Marcella Cemetery in Marcella, Stone County, Ark.
Pallbearers were Patrick Kirkland, Shannon Kirkland, Kevin Kirkland, Lee Watson, Rocky Watson, Mike Parr, Michael Kirkland and Shane Kirkland.
