Marked Tree to host community resource fair
The 2nd annual Marked Tree Community Resource Fair is set to be bigger and better this year with a wide variety of vendors. The resource fair is to be held at Ritter Communications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.
Jacquelyn Gibson, with Absolute Care Management, said one of the features making this year's resource fair better is the partnership of facilities sponsoring the event. Last year, Absolute Care Management was the only presenting sponsor of the resource fair. This year, Three Rivers Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Families, Inc., have teamed up with Absolute Care to reach out to more businesses in the area.
Zach Hatley, representing Three Rivers Healthcare and Rehabilitation, said this year the number of vendors has nearly doubled from last year. Also, the event will have medical and non-medical based vendors.
"We are trying to show we all actively work together, and ultimately the goal is to serve the community," Hatley said.
All vendors will provide a free service, a free product, education information, or a door prize at their booth. The event will have a petting zoo, a rock wall, a dunk tank and a bounce house for kids. The health resources for adults includes free mammograms from the St. Bernard's Women's Health Unit, which requires pre-registration.
