Trumann council holds special meeting regarding vehicles

Friday, July 4, 2014

The Trumann City Council met briefly for a special meeting Wednesday, June 25, to pass an ordinance and a resolution.

The council passed an ordinance to enter into contract with RiverCity Hydraulics for a 24 month lease for a 2015 Mack model GU813 garbage truck at $2,715.66 per month. This ordinance repealed Ordinance 589 because the 2015 Freightliner Mc-112 the city had originally planned to get will not be available until October, and the city is in immediate need of a truck to help clean storm debris.

The council also adopted a resolution authorizing the mayor to apply for a grant on behalf of Dayspring Behavioral Health Services. The GIF funded Community Enhancement Grant in the amount of $35,705 will go toward a 15 passenger van for Dayspring. "The money's already allocated, and it's a done deal," Mayor Sheila Walters said.
