TRUMANN - Mrs. Joann Barnes Hisaw of Trumann died August 9, 2014 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 76. She was born in Newport to the late Willie and Minnie Pearl Cook Barnes. Mrs. Hisaw had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann, was a housewife and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Trumann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Houston Hisaw in 2000; two great-grandchildren, Erica Carter and Bailey Hisaw; four sisters; three brothers; and parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Frankie) Chaffin of Trumann; four sons, Ray (Carolyn) Hisaw, Gary (Cathy) Hisaw and Ricky (Sadie) Hisaw, all of Trumann and David (Anita) Hisaw of Conroe, Tex.; two sisters, Brenda Russell of Trumann and Sharon Malott of Possum Grape, Ark.; one brother, George Barnes of Hoxie; 18 Grandchildren; 43 Great-Grandchildren; and two Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services were August 12 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Murry Ray officiating. Burial followed in Worley Cemetery in Cash.
Active pallbearers were Jerry Dunning, Ricky Hisaw, Jr., Chris Hisaw, Chayton Carter, Preston Whitaker and Jacob Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were be Scotty Hisaw, Michael Hisaw, Derek Hisaw, Nathan Carter, Eric Carter, Stephan Swan and Ryan Herod.
