DEKALB, TEX. - Johnny Louis Ward of DeKalb, Tex. passed away Dec. 26, 2014 at a Little Rock hospital at the age of 77. Mr. Ward was born in Marked Tree Arkansas and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Austin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the DeKalb Volunteer Fire Department, DeKalb Masonic Lodge #9, and a volunteer with the Challenged Outdoorsmen of America Organization. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter Ashtyn Roden; and one brother Charles Ward. He is survived by his wife Eva Nell McKenzie Ward of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Bill Tolliver of Lepanto; two sons David Ward and Greg Ward both of DeKalb, Tex.; one sister Jeanette Houchins of Payneway; five daughters-in-law Lisa Hopkins, Marna Ward, Suzanne Stewart, Lori Malone, and Margie Ward; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 30 at the Austin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Ronnie Pipes and Terral Neeley officiating. Burial followed in the Hubbard Chapel Cemetery in DeKalb, Tex.
