PEORIA HEIGHTS, ILL. -- Elcie McDaniel, 84, of Peoria Heights passed away Jan. 26, 2015, at her residence surrounded by family.
Elcie was born on Mar. 27, 1930, in Truman, Ark., to Thomas and Nellie (Nicholas) Goff. She married J.E. McDaniel on Nov. 13, 1949, in Arkansas. They were married for over 40 years. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, William "Dub," Elmer, Jim D., and her twin Ellis, and "Little Joe"; and three sisters, Virdy Lane, Violia Lidkey, and Ima Finley.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Marti) McDaniel of Peoria; three daughters, Rhonda McDaniel of Springfield, Vickie (Daniel) Collier of Yates City, and Vivian McDaniel of Peoria Heights; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elcie first worked at Morton Pottery, then retired from Bel-wood Nursing Home as a CNA for 20 years.
She loved country and gospel music and John Wayne westerns. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and fishing. She had a strong love for her dogs and cats.
Elcie was a very loving person who never had a harsh word for anyone.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Rev. Forrest Krummel will officiate. Visitation will be from 11- 1 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
