Lady Wildcats lose two to Pocahontas

The Lady Wildcats (2-2) stayed close to the Lady Redskins for two innings before the visitors scored four runs in the top of the third before cruising to a 7-1 win.

Trumann had one base runner in the first two innings as Taelor Gartman was hit by a pitch with two outs in the bottom of second inning but was left stranded.

Pocahontas used four base hits and hit batsman to plate four runs in the top of the third inning. The Lady Redskins added another run in the top of the fourth to make it 5-0. Pocahontas pushed two more runs across in the top of the fifth as the Lady Wildcats went three up three down for the third inning in a row and were still in search of their first hit of the game.

Lexi Jackson singled with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Lady Wildcats' first hit of the game. Kierra Corter reached on an error putting runners at first and second. Gartman singled to score Jackson making the score 7-1 Lady Redskins. Both teams went three up three down in the seventh inning to end the game.

Jackson had a hit and run for Trumann as Gartman finished with a hit and RBI.

Anna Waleszonia was tagged with the loss for Trumann as she pitched all seven innings giving up seven runs on eight hits while walking none and striking out four.

The Lady Wildcats lost a heartbreaker in the second game as a bases loaded walk forced in the winning run in the bottom of seventh giving the Lady Redskins an 8-7 win.
