AGFC sets dove season dates

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission set the dove season dates at it's meeting last week. The commission also heard a proposal for late migratory bird seasons.

Early migratory bird season dates are as follows: Mourning and Eurasian Collared Dove, September 5 -- October 24 and December 19, 2015 -- January 7, 2016. Teal season will run September 12-27, Rail season will be September 12 -- November 20 and Woodcock season will run November 7 -- December 21. Common Snipe season will be November 1, 2015 -- February 15, 2016, Purple Gallinule and Common Moorhen can be hunted September 1 -- November 9, Early Canada Goose can be taken from September 1-15 and Northwest Canada Goose zone season will be September 19-28.

AGFC Waterfowl Program Coordinator Luke Naylor presented the Commission with the late migratory season proposals. Proposed duck season dates: November 21-29, December 10-23 and December 26, 2015 -- January 31, 2016. The youth hunt will be February 6-7, 2016. Canada, White-fronted, blue and Ross's goose seasons, November 19, 2015 -- January 31, 2016 and Snow, blue and Ross's goose conservation order, October 10 -- November 18, February 1-5, 2106 and February 8 -- April 25, 2016. These dates and regulations will be approved at the August meeting.
