Lepanto Police arrest 12 on drug charges following investigation

After a two month long investigation, the Lepanto Police Department arrested 12 people on drug charges Thursday, Aug. 6. The investigation resulted in warrants for 16 individuals, totaling 120 felony charges and 11 misdemeanor charges. Lepanto Police Chief Chad Henderson said the remaining warrants will be served as contact is made with the suspects.

Those arrested include:

*Tara Dobbins of Lepanto for two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, and two counts of proximity to certain facilities.

*Cristi Bryan of Lepanto for two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of proximity to certain facilities, and two subsequent conviction enhancements.

*Cynthia Johnson of Lepanto for two counts of delivery of a schedule IV substance, two counts of possession of a schedule IV substance with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of a schedule IV substance without a prescription, two counts of proximity to certain facililties, and two counts of use of a communication device.

*James Bettes of Lepanto for delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, proximity to certain facilities, and a subsequent conviction enhancement.

*Phillip Vaughn of Lepanto for two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of proximity to certain facilities, and two counts of use of a communication device.

*Corey Leija of Lepanto for two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, and two counts of proximity to certain facilities.

*John Collins of Lepanto for delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, and proximity to certain facilities.

*George Griggs of Lepanto for delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and possession of marijuana.

*Misty Sparks of Lepanto for two counts of delivery of marijuana, two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and two counts of possession of marijuana.

*Bradley Jones of Lepanto for three counts of delivery of methamphetamine, three counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, three counts of possession of methamphetamine, three counts of proximity to certain facilities, three subsequent conviction enhancements, and theft by receiving.

*James Burrus of Lepanto for delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, proximity to certain facilities, delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana.

*Randi Tucker of Lepanto for possession of marijuana and possession of a counterfeit substance with intent to deliver.

All those arrested are appearing in court Aug. 7 before Judge Ron Hunter for a probable cause hearing. The Lepanto Police Department were assisted in the warrant sweep by the Poinsett County Sheriff's Department and the Arkansas Highway Police.
